Buffalo Wings

| If you live in the USA
you have probably eaten Buffalo Wings. Now can you guess
from which American
city that particular delicacy came from? No? Well keep
trying, it will come to you. I didn't try orignial Buffalo
Wings while I was in Buffalo, but they make a good segue
into my next spiel on food and coffee in Buffalo NY,
home of the original buffalo wings. |

The best (only) espresso that was not
Starbucks which I found in Buffalo was the Spot.
They serve gigantic frothy lattes and mochas. They
don't know how to make a proper Italian cappucinno.
And they put too much milk in everything. But if
you explain to them how to do it, once they get over
the shock of being taught by a customer, they make
a pretty good espresso drink.
Way cheaper than SB too, with better pastries. |

| To get to the Spot,
go left out the hostel door, turn left on Chippewa,
and walk until
you see this place, then cross the street to the
place hiding under the Starbucks picture. |

If you like lunch, then the Hatch is pretty
good. It's on the waterfront so it's a bit expensive.
But it's good. The style is Char Broil. It's
main attraction however is the view. If you don't
care about view, but you love char broil, then
look a little lower on the page.

| The absolutely best Char Broil I have
ever in my entire life eaten was in Buffalo at a
place called Louie's. This is actual real Char Broil.
They use real charcoal to cook all their meats. All
the other CB joints in town are just cheap copies
of this
one and most of them cost more. |

Louie's is on Elmwood
Ave on the main shopping strip. The sign says
Hot Dogs but they have
a whole lot more than just dogs. They have burgers,
steak sandwiches, sour cream & chive potatos, with
just about every imaginable fixin, all cooked to
order, including all the fixins. It's worth going
to Buffalo just to eat here. |
