Uncelebrated
Fountains of Rome |
| |

|
|
There are no pictures
of the Trevi Fountain anywhere on this domain. It's
cool and all, but like
the Mona Lisa in Paris, the crowd of tourists surrounding
it prevents us non-lemmings from enjoying it. And
besides you can't drink from the Trevi Fountain
so what's the point?
On this page you will find the truly important fountains
of Rome; the ones nobody notices as they begin to
suffer from dehydration and rush to spend their hard
earned money on bottled water.
On this page we celebrate mostly fountains you can
drink from, and a few you can't. |

Oftentimes when I
heard folks complaining about not having money, I
would tell them to save
money by buying only one small bottle of water and
then refilling it at the numerous fountains to be
found throughout the old city. They invariably responded
that no such fountains exist. Well here they are
you naysayers! If you had bothered to pay attention
you would have more money.
I'm not sure you can actually drink out of the fish-man
fountain. But it's really cool, and actually famous. |

Here we have a couple of the very old
style which they don't make anymore. I think the
well origniated in imperial times. |
|
| |
| This one I know originated
in Imperial times, and judging by the mineral deposits,
I'd say
it's been running continuously since Caesar accepted
the senatorial knife from Brutus. |
