Chambord: Where My Battery Died

Chambord Chambord was home to Charles I of France. Louis XIV stayed here or was supposed to stay here for a couple of days and didn't or something. It gets rather confusing because if a place was just on his list of things to do they devote pages and pages to the event/non-event. I mean c'mon!

This is the coldest building I have ever been in. The cold eats into your bones. It was a warm day and I was layered and I still got cold.

Here we are again waiting for the sweet and smiley Amelia, who stopped to take this picture.

A fine view from the ramparts of the chateau, and again courtesy of the smiley happy Amelia.

The last photo I was able to get before my battery died.  Moral of the story: don't forget to charge!

There were lots of diseased trees
so they were cutting huge swaths in the forest.

Thanks to Amelia from Lisbon
