FThis is one of my favorite genres of music. Sinatra
and Dean Martin fall into thes category. Their company
is well kept by the likes of Benjamin Biolay. There are
quite a few artists in this category, and I barely scratch
the surface here. On your next trip to Paris spend some
time in OCD, the used music store. They have a wide and
always changing selection. In France (unlike
the USA) when you buy a used
CD, the artists gets paid.

Benjamin
Biolay is one of my favorite artists.
Masculine,
low key crooner,
creative, technically sound,
good lyrics.
He also does
a lot of production work
so you can hear his
influence
on many other artist's albums.
Home(2004)
This is a duet album with his wife(Chiara
Mastroianni) with whom
I am otherwise unfamiliar. It's a nice departure from
Biolay's usual style.
Négatif
Musically mature, complex, characterisic of Biolay.
Rating: $$$$
There are two versions of this album, one has two discs
the other just one. Each version contains one song not
on the other. If you have a choice I recommend the single
disc version since it won't take up an extra
slot in your changer (and it costs
less).
Lara Fabian's
earlier stuff is pretty much tailored to a
feminine audience,
and her english stuff did not impress
me. That being
said, she made one album that blew me away...
