Pern Rocks! YO F'lar!

Part Two: Room 624

Room 624 is on the sixth floor, has eight bunks, is conveniently located directly across from the men’s washroom, and has the worst ventilation of any room I have ever been in. Even with the window open we had to prop the door open all night so we wouldn’t suffocate.

I was in transit from Romania to France, so thankfully this lasted only one night.

The hotel staff assigns the guests to specific beds. However, in room 624 the beds were NOT clearly marked. So when I came in, I found one Deirdre from Dublin in my bed. Sadly she did not wish to share. So we decided to trade. And since we could not determine which was to be her bed, we guessed.

We guessed poorly. In the middle of the night two blokes from France came in and one of them woke me up to inform me that I was in his bed. I of course pointed at Deirdre and said “Blah!” Then the girl in the bed next to mine awoke and told us all that she was leaving on the 4:00 AM train and the French bloke could have her bed; which he accepted.

But that doesn’t end it. This guy had what I can only describe as Dragon Breath. One could smell his nasty-stinky-rotten breath 7 feet away. And he was in the bed next to mine. Ewwwwwwwwwwww.

The next morning the lovely Deirdre and I breakfasted together. She was in town for (I think) a Madonna concert. She is quite the talented graphic artist and aspires to study in New York. I am quite the talented artist as well, so I gave her my card and we promised to stay in touch, etc.

Hi Deirdre!

BUT after checking out of the hotel, I found one of my cards stuck in the wall next to the lift! The NERVE!!!!! But what Deirdre doesn’t know (until now) is that she left a People Magazine in room 624 with her home address printed on the label.

Hi Deirdre! And yes, the card you received in the mail is EXACTLY the same one you stuck in the wall next to the lift!
