This tree is of the Metro (subway) in Paris
France. The system is divided up into different lines
(trains). Each line has two directions (blue arrows),
then each direction is divided up into many stops. (
a star indicates a major intersection).
Pretend you are traveling on Line 1, direction:
La Defenseand you wish to transfer
at Chatelet to the
RER B. You are in a hurry. Getting on the correct car
can save you up to 3 minutes transferring, which may
mean catching the earlier train and preventing an inconvenient
wait of up to 8 minutes. (possible 11 minute saving
or delay). So of course you want to get on the correct
car.
Looking at the mindmap, you start at Line 1. Then
you take direction: La Defense. Then on up to Chatelet,
where you follow the link to RER B, and there you see
that you want to be on the rear most car of Line 1.
Voila.
You can download a fully interactive version
of the Paris Metro mindmap by clicking anywhere on the
big
mindmap. Of course you will need FreeMind to use it.
Mind you that FreeMind is Free.
